Men’s Basketball Preview: Florida College @ USF

November 24, 2020 –  Tampa, Fla. –

Tomorrow, Florida College will face off against the University of South Florida in a men’s basketball match up which will serve as the season opener for the Bulls. Florida College enters the match up 5-3 after a dominant victory over Trinity Baptist College winning 118-72. The Falcons have been led this season by #25 Matt Simpson (21 ppg/3 apg/ 7 rpg) and he will most likely be the difference maker if the Falcons are able to pull the upset over the NCAA DI opponent in USF. The USF Bulls are most likely going to play bully ball in the paint with their new transfers Prince Oduro and Russel Tchewa. The Bulls will mark as the third NCAA DI he has played at within Oduro’s collegiate career. He had looked to find a home and believes he may have finally found it in USF. To control the pace, look for Bulls Head Coach Brian Gregory to place the ball in the hands of Freshman guard Caleb Murphy. Prior to this season, Murphy was ranked No. 72 in the ESPN 100 and led Grayson High School to a No. 10 national ranking. Although there will be new faces this season, it won’t be the first time that the Bulls have faced off against the Falcons. The last time these two teams met was on Feb. 19, 2019 when the Bulls routed the Falcons 95-54.

The USF Bulls will play the Florida College Falcons at home at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, FL at 11:30 A.M. The game will be aired on ESPN+.
