Infielder, Nathan Scragg, signs with the Hamilton Cardinals for the 2021 season. A Port Perry, Ontario native Scragg has experience playing baseball for a variety of teams. Scragg played for the Toronto Mets Elite Program for three years, playing in multiple positions and sharpening his skills in the infield. Facing many ups and downs through his time with the Mets, Scragg later became an integral part of the team leading them to a championship win, being awarded the finals MVP. Scragg has also had the opportunity to play at Erie Community College, and recently in a 2020 summer league in Montana with the Buccaneers. Through these teams he has gained a plethora of experience that he will be able to bring to the Hamilton Cardinals.
Being only 5’7”, 160 pounds, Nathan Scragg has faced difficulties in his past relating to his size. He may not initially be a huge impact player for the Hamilton Cardinals, but he will certainly bring a lot of potential for the team in the coming years. As a “team first” player Scragg will fit in with the team mentality that the Hamilton Cardinals strive to achieve. This is an exciting signing that can bring years of success for the Hamilton Cardinals.
