PCC Eagles 2021 Season Preview

July 13, 2021 – Pensacola, FL –

On the brink of winning back-to-back championships last year, the Eagles could no longer fly after making the championship game last season. However, there is still a lot of hope for this upcoming season. Plenty of key players are coming back to help the eagles try to win their second championship in the last three years. Through confidence and teamwork, The Eagles have major belief in themselves to grab the illustrious national championship.

Although the Eagles last season resulted in a different outcome than anticipated, there was still plenty to be proud of. Three players on the team received All-Region first team recognition at the South Regional Tournament, while another four players were named to the All-Region second team. Keeping the core of the group is essential to making another national championship push. For the Eagles, getting back a player such as Clint Peterson is critical due to his leadership and skill. Peterson was honored last year by being voted for plenty of accolades, such as All-Region first team, All-Tournament team, All-America first team, and Top Defender in the NCCAA DII level. Keeping a player of that caliber is something the Eagles desperately want.

Along with Peterson, the Eagles had seven players receive awards for the South Region Tournament. Players such as Anthony Ruiz, Zachary Kluever, and Riley Rhodes coming back will help the eagles tremendously for their schedule this season that starts in late August.

There will be some big games this season for the Eagles that will test them before any tournaments start. One massive game to keep an eye on is the Eagles vs. Trinity Baptist College. Trinity Baptist College beat the Eagles in the semi-finals at the Region Tournament. Although the Eagles had lost, the team’s strength allowed them to take part in the National Tournament, where they reached the finals. Now both with a fresh start, you can expect the Eagles to be hungry for revenge. As for Trinity Baptist, they are out to prove that their victory last season was not a fluke.

Another important game for the Eagles is when they play against Bob Jones University on the 12th game of the season. Although they are going to have a first-year coach, Bob Jones still ended last season with a 9-3-1 record, along with winning the first region championship in the program’s history. The match will be two titans facing off against each other.

Of course, getting through other teams such as Southeastern University, who beat the Eagles 5-0 last season, and the University of Mobile, who beat the Eagles by six whole goals, will prove to be a challenging obstacle. Still, the Eagles are highly confident in themselves to redeem the previous losses.

After falling short of their goals last season, the Eagles are prepared to come back with a vengeance. With the momentum from the previous two seasons and the possibility of many key players coming back, the Eagles are set to have an impressive season in their quest to grab the National Championship. The only ones stopping the Eagles will be themselves.
