June 25, 2021 – McKinney, TX –
Dallas City FC is currently 0-6 and dead last in the Heartland Conference Division, as well as dead last in power rankings, following Saturday’s game. Many people are baffled as to what is wrong with this team. It might be a lack of management, lousy coaching, or simply poor chemistry. It’s none of those things, but it’s how they play.
The game on Saturday shed a lot of light on what this team’s problem is. When the other side takes possession of the ball and Dallas is forced to defend, Dallas crumbles. This team’s defence is awful; on Saturday, Reign FK spent the whole of the first half on the opposite side of the field. The second half was a shambles, with the Reign FK scoring six goals as Dallas’ defence went missing like usual.
It was difficult to identify a player who was ready to remark on how things were going within the team. Even the coach was unwilling to speak, which is reasonable given that no one likes to talk critically about their team. Given the bad season, there may be some conflict within the team, which may have an impact on the game as well.
There will undoubtedly be new faces on the team next season. Front office and team, because if J.W. Welge, general manager of the Dallas City FC, thinks this club is fine the way it is, he is most certainly on his way out. Jacob Serdar Tuygun, the team’s president, will get involved in helping to strengthen this team.
The next game will be against Demize NPSL, the league’s sixteenth best team with a 7-3 record, who defeated the Arkansas Wolves 3-2 on Wednesday. Dallas must strengthen its defence to compete with Demise; goalies can only do so much.
This team has a lot of improvements to do on and off the field
