Syracuse Stallions vs Atlanta Empire: Playoff Series Preview

June 25, 2021 – Syracuse, NY –

The Syracuse Stallions have secured the top overall seed in the Eastern Conference and have an astounding 18-4 record. On the other side we have the Atlanta Empire who are in 4th place in the Eastern Conference with a 12-7 record. You can expect the Syracuse Stallions to push the pace quickly offensively, playing an uptempo offense that has led to six of their players averaging over double figures throughout the season. Expect Jordan Robertson, the team’s second leading scorer who’s averaging 18 points per game on an efficient 50% from the field to pick up more off the scoring load with the Stallions top scorer, Trashon Burrell, who has averaged over 21 points per game sidelined with an injury. Robertson had 34 points on 53% shooting to go along with eight rebounds when they went against the Jamestown Jackals, who are the second best team in the East right after the Stallions and is a guy who’s motor never turns off.

The Stallions have a well balanced, powerful offensive attack with many guys able to put the ball in the bucket to help the team win. Despite Burrell being out, you have guys like Michael Henry having a 32 point double-double against the Tri-State Admirals, Robertson averaging over 18, and Jonathan Ivy averaging over 17 a game as well , with Henry not too far behind with 16.5 per game for the season. The Stallions are an amazing rebounding team that really crashes the boards and creates second chance opportunities for them to score, which has helped them become the top team in their conference for a reason.

The Atlanta Empire might be the road team in all of the games, but that doesn’t mean they can’t compete against the Stallions. The Empire’s leading scorer and fourth leading scorer in the TBL, Chuck Guy, who is averaging 26 points per game on an absurd 56% from the field and 44% from three. He will make it tough for the Stallions every game and take pressure off his teammates to find open shooters. I expect Guy to put his team on his back single handedly to victory but it will ultimately come down to guys like Djimon Henson, Justin Tuoyo, and Deven Dorsett. Who will step up if Guy has an off game? That is the question we must ask ourselves as we continue into the playoffs and only time will tell who will move onto the Eastern Conference Championship.
