July 17, 2021 – Pembroke Pines, FL –
Storm FC ended the season with an overall record of 0-10. In addition, the squad finished 74th in the power rankings. Similar to the Dallas City FC dilemma, fans are unsure what the problem is; it may be goalkeeping, defence, poor management, or all of the above. The squad as a whole must be rebuilt from the ground up.
Because this club will not have a fighting chance next season owing to the expansion in 2022, who knows who they could face? Also, bear in mind that the squad is in a tough division, and most of the teams they face are consistent; the teams have a two-point differential when you go down the list, except for Storm FC, which has 0 points in 10 games, which is somehow possible.
When most teams perform poorly, it is easy to point fingers and say that is what is wrong with the team. For example, Dallas City FC finished with the same record as Storm FC, 0-10, but with Dallas, the team is decent, it is just a poorly managed team in general, whereas, with Storm FC, it is everything. When this team loses, it doesn’t simply lose by one or two goals; it loses by four, six, or even ten goals.
Defence is the bedrock of any team, not just soccer. If Storm FC scores five goals and the defence fails to follow it up, the team will collapse. To be honest, this club lacks a foundation; management should prioritize rebuilding the defence over anything else.
New coaching should also be considered. Because of a 0-10 record, the 2019 season was no different, with a 1-9 record. Major management changes are also required; if a 1-9 record followed by a 0-10 record does not raise red flags in the minds of some, then this team is doomed. Fans should brace themselves for another humiliating season if Matthew Parry does not make some adjustments and coach Sanchez remains in charge.
Look, every team deserves a second chance, but this team is going to need a few more chances. This team needs to be completely rebuilt.
