Back in Action: Britto Tutt Rejoins the Oilers for a Defensive Resurgence

January 24, 2024 – Tulsa, OK –

The Tulsa Oilers are set to welcome back Britto Tutt, a formidable defensive back, for their upcoming season. Tutt’s return is highly anticipated, especially after an injury-riddled 2023 season limited him to just four games. Despite this setback, he left a notable impact on the field, recording 12.5 tackles (10 solo) and showcasing his game-changing abilities against the Iowa Barnstormers with a game-sealing interception and a touchdown from a kick return.

Prior to joining the Oilers, Tutt had a stint with the Frisco Fighters in the IFL during 2022. In his six games with the Fighters, he compiled impressive statistics: 25.5 tackles, two interceptions, and five pass breakups. This period highlighted his defensive prowess and playmaking skills.

Tutt’s journey in football goes beyond his professional career. He played for the University of Arkansas during his college years, participating in 21 games over three seasons and contributing to both defense and special teams. His football career began at Ventura College, where his performance earned him the All-Northern Conference first-team selection.

Looking ahead to the 2024 season, Tutt’s return to the Oilers is more than just a roster addition. Standing at 6’1″ and weighing 183 lbs., he brings a unique combination of height and speed, making him an efficient player on the field. Marvin Jones, head coach of the Oilers, has recognized Tutt’s potential, noting that his physical attributes could make him one of the league’s best.

Tutt’s versatility and experience will likely play a crucial role in the Oilers’ defensive strategies. His ability in pass defense, coupled with his experience in special teams, adds depth to the team’s lineup. The Oilers, who will begin their second season on the road against the Frisco Fighters and later face the Iowa Barnstormers at the BOK Center, will undoubtedly benefit from Tutt’s diverse skill set.

In essence, Britto Tutt’s return to the Tulsa Oilers is a significant development for the team. His defensive skills, coupled with his playmaking ability and physical attributes, are expected to strengthen the team’s performance in the upcoming season. The Oilers, with Tutt back on their roster, look poised to make a strong impact in the league.
